In January I had been dating Bobby for about a month. We were going thrifting and antiquing quite a bit. I was in my last semester at U of L and was crossing my fingers for snow days way too often.

In February the While You Sleep show happened. It was uncharacteristically warm here and there so Bobby and I went on several picnic style dates in the park. I was really sick with strep throat on Valentines day. I was exhausted and staying up really late trying to balance work, my BFA thesis semester, and being in a new relationship.

In March I was constantly picking flowers from my neighbor’s yards. The photo crew went to Philly for SPE and it was wonderful. Bobby and I ate at Proof and stayed at 21C for a night, went to the Science Center, and went to the Newport Aquarium. He gave me a tour of where he grew up and I met his family. We drank mimosas every Sunday morning.

In April it flooded. I was finally getting to see Alexia a lot more since school was winding down. I printed my Midnight/Noon show, practically spent nights in the digital lab and started shooting some polaroids again. I kept picking flowers from my neighbors yard and Bobby got me some tulips. I started making some cyanotypes and we started going out with friends more often.

In May things finally calmed down! We got to go on double dates with Alexia and Collin quite a bit— several times to the lake. We had more picnics, I saw more of my family, and spent more time with friends.

In June my best friends had their wedding ceremony (although they got hitched a little bit back.) Bobby and I had our six month anniversary. We went to visit my family in Arkansas and I got to see my niece and nephew. We went out with Chris and Cassie a bit and Kerry and I started getting to see each other again as well.

In July Kerry and I were going out a few times a week, the Stacked show happened, we had a very successful summer themed cocktail party, and we moved into our new place! It was a really busy wonderful month.

In August I figured out I could curl my hair with rollers. Bobby and I had many more park dates, went on a day trip to Cave City/Dino World, we went to the lake more, and went out with my parents some. I began my Pour L’Instant project. We watched a meteor shower with some friends. I discovered that I am allergic to Lilies. Also learned that chicken salad made with guacamole instead of mayo is the best.

In September Alexia and I had one of my favorite photo-shoots ever to welcome in the fall. I purchased a really great thermos. The Rough Cut happened. I threw out my back. It rained a lot. I started my plant nook to make the winter better. My allergies went nuts. We had a wonderfully successful pizza party (and I have the grease burns to prove it.)

In October Bobby and I went to Huber’s, took a day trip to Nashville, shot a music video in the basement, and had a wonderful camping trip in the Smoky Mountains. We dressed up as Raphael and April from TMNT for Halloween. I discovered the butternut squash. We went to the zoo and birds landed on us. I started the Grasshoppers CSA and started cooking more. I got a haircut.

In November we put up the tree two weeks before Thanksgiving. The Both of Us show happened. It rained a lot. I found out that I get to teach for LVAA. I cooked a lot of soup. I made a turkey for the first time. We hosted a Thanksgiving potluck. We got an awesome new couch.

In December I took a lot of pictures of Christmas shop windows. My siblings came early in the month for Christmas. I sewed a bit. I made kimchi for the first time. Bobby and I took a trip to Chicago for our one year anniversary. My engine block cracked and stranded us. We stayed at his family’s house for my birthday and opened gifts with them on Christmas morning. We had a nerf fight with his siblings. We hosted a holiday gathering and had a wonderful Christmas together. We took the tree down before the month was over. We got an espresso machine.
